DESCRIPTION
The surface plasmon microscope is a high resolution microscope allowing intracellular and extra-cellular structures imaging without exogenous contrast or
fixation processes agent, which may modify the sample. Amplitude and phase image reconstruction offer the possibility to detect cytoskeleton filaments, vesicules, nucleus, nucleolus and to have a local measurement of their density and their size. Combination of this microscope with fluorescence or atomic force microscopy offers a complete and versatile tool for Multiscale imaging of nano and microstructures.
This automatized microscope offers a sub wavelength resolution imaging, which can be used in others fields than biology like microfluidics, materials….
STAGE OF DEVELOPMENT
Design of a low cost microscope for biomedical applications.
Several samples studied:
• Metalic and dielectric nanoparticles (200 nm - 20 nm): latex, gold, in air and in water
• Human cells: whole cell, internal structure
