Anti-cancer drug

The present invention relates to the development of novel Gossypol or Apogossypol, in particular having an application as anticancer agents.  

The method allows to modify the substitution pattern of Gossypol in order to improve the interaction of new derivatives with Bcl-2, Bcl-XL, and Mcl-1, Protein. 

This straightforward de novo synthesis gives access to a variety of apogossypol derivatives which are not accessible by conventionalhemisyntheticmeans.

The objective is to modulate the biological activity in terms of efficiency and specificity.
