Desalination water process by a solar thermo-hydraulic osmotic process

CONTEXT

The DEPOTHS project demonstrates the feasibility of a thermo-hydraulic solar process coupled with a reverse osmosis membrane process for desalination of brackish water or seawater from flat plate solar collectors delivering low temperature heat (<100°C).

BENEFITS

  • Device is autonomous
  • DEPOTHS system targets an autonomous production of fresh water with low energy consumption and a maximum daily production capacity of 100m3/day. It is therefore a small-capacity desalination system designed to supply drinking water or agricultural irrigation water.

APPLICATIONS

Desalination for drinking water production or agricultural irrigation.
