• Colorectal cancers are a major public health problem in Western countries due to the

commonness and to the seriousness of the disease. Colorectal cancer occurs frequently

in France, ranking 3rd place among cancer in men and second place in female cancer

forms.

• Cancer stem cells appear in a return bout of colorectal cancer, and early detection will

arm clinicians with a predictive factor, and the clinician will be able to adapt the therapy

consequently.

TECHNOLOGY DESCRIPTION

 

• The technology is based on the identification of one or more colorectal cancer stem cell

markers in a paraffin cup through an immunohistochemical technique.

• The standard operating procedure is developed and a retrospective study is in progress in

order to correlate cancer stem cells and the seriousness of the case of colorectal cancer.
