EXTREME RADIATION WAVE DOSIMETERS: this project focuses on developing a real-time dosimeter to measure non-ionizing radiation, covering a wide spectrum of fluences (up to very high fluences)

Context
This project is positioned in a context of particle radiation metrology, more particularly as related to dosimetry of high-fluence, non-ionizing radiation. The project’s goal is to elaborate dosimeters (sensors) that are able to ensure reliability for electronic equipment subject to extreme radiation, where it is critical to obtain precise measurements in order to monitor the environment correctly.

Benefits
The innovation offered by this project represents a technological disruption with respect to existing processes. The new concept is able to continually measure non-ionizing radiation in extreme radiation environments. It offers better performance than existing solutions, and thus opens opportunities for new markets and applications.

Applications
- High-energy physics experiments

- Non-ionizing radiation metrology in nuclear reactors

- Major international projects for fusion energy production

- Space exploration missions to Jupiter
