Presentation

Biomolecule marking is a major interest for various diseases diagnosis using PET imaging. The SRSMC laboratory of the University of Lorraine has developed a new type of sugar-based prosthetic group easily produced with synthesis machine used in PET imaging centers. Coupling reactions can be performed in a very short time with very good yields, which allows increasing the marker’s usage duration. Moreover, these groups have the advantage to increase the biodisponibility of the marked biomolecule and therefore enables a better distribution and the obtention of more efficient PET images.

Competitive advantages

  • Use standard equipment available in all PET imaging centers;
  • High production yield of biomarked molecules;
  • Increase biomarked molecules biodisponibility.

Applications/Markets

  • Biomolecules marking for PET imaging.

Intellectual property

  • Patent FR2992647 deposited the 02/07/2012;
  • Collaboration sought: sale of the license to distributors of PET imaging reactants;
  • Readiness level: synthesis process directly usable.
