Presentation

Laboratories at the University of Franche-Comté conduct transversal researches on different thematic in direct connection with actual environmental preoccupations :

  • Society dynamics and  agri-environmental and territorial systems;
  • Evaluation of anthropic impact on the environment (transformation, exploitation, spatial planning);
  • Agrarian system mutation  and their spatial dynamics over a long period;
  • Urban and rural spaces interactions from protohistory to modern times: landscapes, networks and territories.

The Chrono-environment laboratory study the environment by a transversal approach. This Mixed Research Unit 6249 UFC/CNRS gathers approximatively 300 researchers, biologists, geologists, archeologists, chemists, historians, paleo-environmentalists, pharmacists and physicians to study interactions between men and the environment, ecosystems, climate variability, and human exposition and natural habitats to pollution.

Projects/Achievements

  • Biodiversity and prairie ecosystems management in the Franche-Comté region;
  • Impact of sampling surface on the quantification of noise pollution exposition;
  • Dendrochronology: influence of stationary and climatic factors on radial growth;
  • Reconstitution of paleoenvironments by pollen analysis;
  • Impact of climatic changes on societies.

Applications/Markets

  • Territorial intelligence, environment management;
  • Natural spaces management, biodiversity.
