MARKET

• In France alone, there are approximately 120,000 patients suffering from Achilles’ tendinopathy.

35% of cases are sports-related. As one of the best-known sports pathologies,

a tear in the Achilles’ tendon can cause immobilisation for several weeks and represents

a non-negligeable cost to civil society. Furthermore, there currently is no simple method

usable in clinical practice to evaluate the biomechanical properties of the tendon in normal

or pathological condition in order to avoid a tear in the Achilles’ tendon.

TECHNOLOGY DESCRIPTION

• The technology is a medical device, integrating an ultrasound probe, and quantitatively

evaluating the biomechanical properties of the Achilles tendon and its variations in movement

thanks to reference. The evaluation will be simple and accessible to clinical

practitioners to orient better their therapeutic decisions for better treatment of tendon

pathologies.

Competitive advantages

• Non-invasive device

• Device for tendon issues.
