The invention consists of a process for simulating the navigation of surgical instruments in tubular anatomic structures (like arteries) for catheterism applications.

The very idea is to develop a tool integrating the dynamic behaviour of surgical instruments which interact with data representing exactly anatomic structures under real time constraints. In the context of minimally invasive surgery, this technology deals with planning and guiding of interventions when flexible tools are introduced inside the patient body.

The applications are especially concerned with intravascular interventions on peripheral arteries.
