Permettant d\u00e9sormais d\u2019interroger les propri\u00e9t\u00e9s de la mati\u00e8re en en d\u00e9cryptant la structure intime au niveau mol\u00e9culaire, elle ouvre des perspectives industrielles jusqu\u2019alors inaccessibles. \u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-10150 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/www.pulsalys.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/Polysaccharides-Isabelle-Compagnon-\u00a9Pulsalys-NM-11_site-250x170.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/>Concr\u00e8tement, les deux technologies coupl\u00e9es permettent d\u2019obtenir une signature bidimensionnelle in\u00e9dite (mesure simultan\u00e9e de la masse et des modes de vibration) pour un saccharide. Ces informations sont interpr\u00e9t\u00e9es par comparaison avec une base de donn\u00e9es d\u00e9velopp\u00e9e au laboratoire, ce qui permet alors de d\u00e9terminer la structure du saccharide. A noter que les analyses sont possibles sur tous les types de carbohydrates, qu\u2019ils soient mono-, di-, tri-, oligo- ou poly-saccharides.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">R\u00e9volution pour les glycosciences<\/span> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-10148 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/www.pulsalys.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/Polysaccharides-Isabelle-Compagnon-\u00a9Pulsalys-NM-5_site-250x168.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/>\u00a0<em>\u00ab\u00a0Les glycosciences (ou sciences des glucides) n\u2019ont pas encore b\u00e9n\u00e9fici\u00e9 des avanc\u00e9es technologiques qui ont r\u00e9volutionn\u00e9 la g\u00e9n\u00e9tique et la science des prot\u00e9ines \u00bb<\/em> d\u00e9clare Isabelle Compagnon, Ma\u00eetre de conf\u00e9rences IUF au D\u00e9partement de Physique de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 Claude Bernard Lyon 1 et responsable du projet d\u2019\u00e9tude de la structure mol\u00e9culaire des carbohydrates qu\u2019elle a initi\u00e9 depuis 2012 au sein de l\u2019ILM.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Sa passion\u00a0? Mener des recherches en Physique fondamentale, au service de l\u2019interdisciplinarit\u00e9 et de la soci\u00e9t\u00e9. Son envie\u00a0?\u00a0 Construire un instrument pour d\u00e9crypter les saccharides, dont la structure est encore tr\u00e8s m\u00e9connue. <em>\u00ab\u00a0Il y a une explosion de l\u2019int\u00e9r\u00eat pour les biomol\u00e9cules dans la communaut\u00e9 internationale de spectroscopie mol\u00e9culaire\u00a0\u00bb<\/em> affirme-t-elle. <em>\u00ab\u00a0Alors que le s\u00e9quen\u00e7age du g\u00e9nome a provoqu\u00e9 un r\u00e9el engouement, pour les scientifiques comme pour le grand public, celui des sucres est toujours apparu comme un obstacle infranchissable\u00a0\u00bb<\/em> d\u00e9plore-t-elle, reconnaissant avoir \u00e9t\u00e9 motiv\u00e9e \u00e0 la fois par la complexit\u00e9 de l\u2019objet et la virginit\u00e9 du domaine \u00e0 explorer.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">De la preuve de concept aux applications industrielles<\/span>\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-10147 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/www.pulsalys.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/Logo-IRoGlyph_Polysaccharides-250x228.png\" alt=\"\" \/>Les atouts de l\u2019approche d\u00e9velopp\u00e9e au sein de l\u2019ILM sont multiples et incitent \u00e0 la rendre disponible aupr\u00e8s du plus grand nombre d\u2019industriels en analyse de routine automatis\u00e9e et aussi pour la R&amp;D\u00a0: faible quantit\u00e9 d\u2019\u00e9chantillon n\u00e9cessaire, r\u00e9duction des d\u00e9lais d\u2019analyse (1h par unit\u00e9 monosaccharidique) et possibilit\u00e9 de distinguer des isom\u00e8res (structures mol\u00e9culaires tr\u00e8s semblables). Le projet fait l\u2019objet d\u2019une pr\u00e9-maturation par le CNRS, d\u00e9marr\u00e9e d\u00e9but janvier 2018 pour 12 mois. Le prototype de laboratoire est d\u2019ores et d\u00e9j\u00e0 op\u00e9rationnel et les pr\u00e9-validations ont \u00e9t\u00e9 r\u00e9alis\u00e9es sur des \u00e9chantillons mis \u00e0 disposition par des industriels. <em>\u00ab\u00a0Nous r\u00e9alisons depuis quelques mois des prestations et collaborations industrielles via la plateforme IRoGlyPh g\u00e9r\u00e9e par l\u2019Universit\u00e9 Lyon 1\u00a0\u00bb<\/em> indique Isabelle Compagnon. C\u00f4t\u00e9 applications, elles concernent tout autant la reconnaissance et la quantification de structures connues (pour le contr\u00f4le qualit\u00e9) que l\u2019identification de structures inconnues (pour l\u2019aide \u00e0 la synth\u00e8se notamment dans les services de R&amp;D). Des pans de march\u00e9 entiers s\u2019ouvrent alors dans le domaine de la sant\u00e9 (en oncologie, immunologie, bact\u00e9riologie, virologie) et de l\u2019agroalimentaire (miel, alimentation sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9e tel le lait infantile\u2026) principalement, et \u00e9galement en agronomie (\u00e9liciteurs v\u00e9g\u00e9taux) et dans le domaine de l\u2019environnement (biomasse).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">Plusieurs voies de valorisation possibles<\/span> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Le projet Polysaccharides permet d\u2019envisager plusieurs options de voies de valorisation qui pourraient \u00eatre\u00a0: la cr\u00e9ation d\u2019une startup bas\u00e9e sur l\u2019invention, d\u00e8s lors d\u00e9di\u00e9e \u00e0 la vente de prestations et\/ou d\u2019\u00e9quipements et de bases de donn\u00e9es, ou le transfert \u00e0 un industriel souhaitant co-d\u00e9velopper puis commercialiser l\u2019\u00e9quipement. <em>\u00ab\u00a0Le r\u00f4le de Pulsalys est de nous aider \u00e0 envisager toutes les voies de valorisation possibles afin de choisir la plus pertinente\u00a0\u00bb<\/em> confie Isabelle Compagnon.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Pulsalys a d\u00e9j\u00e0 accompagn\u00e9 le projet via le d\u00e9p\u00f4t d\u2019une demande de brevet et une \u00e9tude de march\u00e9, qui a permis de valider l\u2019int\u00e9r\u00eat industriel de la technologie. L\u2019action de pr\u00e9-maturation CNRS et les discussions en cours permettront de valider la pertinence du projet de startup, et d\u00e8s lors de d\u00e9finir le mod\u00e8le \u00e9conomique adapt\u00e9. Un partenariat avec une soci\u00e9t\u00e9 d\u2019instrumentation ne doit pas \u00eatre exclu car le d\u00e9veloppement du syst\u00e8me demandera un investissement tr\u00e8s important.
