PROBLEM ADRESSED

Magnetometry remains little used in the field, particularly because the reliability and ergonomics of measurements with existing technologies is evaluated as low.

The problem of tools is relevant for marking of magnetic artifacts, rock detection, mineralogy, field mapping for magnetic pollution and other ones.

APPLICATIONS

Innovative measurement device adapted for:

detection of magnetic anomalies,
Environmental studies: pollution and depollution,
quarries and mines detection,
construction studies,
metrology research.

TECHNOLOGY

The invention is embodied in an automatic bench for measuring the environmental magnetism of a sedimentary core extending in a main direction.

The device is configured to translate the sediment core relative to the flow valve probe. Its use has been diverted to measure magnetization from rock samples, which is exceptionally spatially accurate. The bench is configured so that the flux gate sensor measures the magnetic field almost continuously along the sediment core. It is very much similar to a scanner.

From this magnetization, due to the integrated algorithm, it is possible to find the nature of the sediments present in the sample.

ADVANTAGES VS. STATE of the ART

This innovative system offers considerable advantages to its users:

Measurements of strong magnetizations without saturation,
Greater spatial accuracy,
Quick measures.
