PROBLEM ADDRESSED
Today sedation level is evaluated in a behavioral manner by nurses. The evaluation is mostly subjective and is carried out in a discontinuous manner, which can give insufficiently correct states of sedation.

The patient may be put in danger by insufficient sedation or, on the contrary, be immersed in a coma too deep, which requires entire days of recovery which is a very deleterious option.

TECHNOLOGY
This project aims at improving the monitoring of sedation in ICU by automating it. The innovation includes a classical physiological signal analysis which allows to identify patterns and to classify patients.

The solution is completed with motion sensors for measuring the activity of the patient.

After successful classification, the invention helps the sedation management.
