PROBLEM ADDRESSED

Today the majority of abdominal sutures are made manually.
The procedure is time-consuming, requires the manipulation of a needle and implies ligatures. The increasing tendency is to replace manual sutures with stapling or suturing devices.

TECHNOLOGY

The invention is a parietal suture gun inspired by a tag gun and designed to avoid manual sutures while providing an equally solid result. The innovative device comprises two hollow needles, a suture wire with two opposite T ends and a locking system with two lock-in holders connected by a link.
The structure shown in Figures 1-4 demonstrates how the wire is turned and how it ensures an effective suture.

APPLICATIONS

  • Gynecology,
  • Digestive surgery,
  • Thoracic surgery,

ADVANTAGES VS. STATE OF THE ART

The innovative suture gun allows to:

  • reduce the time for abdominal sutures placement,
  • ensure the high quality of sutures due to appropriate and reliable wire tension.
