Spraying system adaptable to autonomous robotics platform for precise crop treatment and reduction of inputs

Airborne spraying for viticulture has been effectively forbidden since 2012. As a result, only small tracked agricultural vehicles are use for in-field treatment today. However, the are risks to operators, notably musculoskeletal disorders and exposure to sprayed pesticides. Current spraying tools for major crops, market gardening, and viticulture are still based on their traditional design.

The regulatory framework concerning techniques is changing. Following the failure of the EcoPhyto 2018 plan, the revised EcoPhyto 2 plan seeks to reduce the use of phytosanitary products by 50% in the 2025 time-frame, notably by imposing the use of mechanisms to collect wasted spraying products.

The development being performed for this project seeks to propose a new spraying system that enables precise and effective treatment, thus significantly reducing the quantity of inputs used, while remaining compact, easy to use, and energy efficient.
