Presentation

The ADN platform has material and skills to achieve the whole processing chain, from source document to its diffusion, via digitization and indexation. It is equipped with precious books and A0-scanners, with digitizers of high productivity, microfilms, slides, and A2 books.

The ADN platform has been identified and labelled in 2012 by the « Réseau National des MSH » (National network of houses of human sciences). It is a technical support to the Consortium « Contemporary world archives », which participates to the national research infrastructure  « Huma-Num » and counts among technological platforms of the University de Burgundy. It provides the possibility to treat all kind of data (text, still image, moving image, sound, audiovisual, multimedia), to create digital corpuses (old documents digitization, native numerical data collection, indexation, markup), and prepare their scientific exploitation and their diffusion to various audiences, depending on projects.

Applications/Markets

  • Corpus production: filing plans development, creation and encoding in XML-EAD of catalogue records and instruments of electronical archival research, textual corpus digitization, images and audio, image treatment, optical character recognition;
  • Tools and applications preparation: IT development/database creation;
  • Expertise.

Intellectual Property

  • Digital protection by software deposition to the APP (agency for software protection);
  • Terms of use with data use conditions and co-ownership agreements of treated and non-treated data.

Expertise

Technical skills and equipment of the platform are put to the service of research programs of Human and Social Sciences laboratories of the burgundy campus. The platform answers to inquiries from the socio-economical world (F. Bourdon association, OIV, Bibracte, …), as part of service agreements, usually  linked to research programs developed at the MSH.
