The CHECKSEM team of the Le2i laboratory works on ontology engineering (structured sets of terms and concepts representing an information field meaning), namely the modelling, settlement, persistence and evolution of ontologies.

Its research focuses on rule engineering: logical rules, machine learning, metaheuristics, etc. and the development of web 3.0 et 4.0 tools based on semantic and intelligence. Researchers and engineers are specialized in resolution of semantic heterogeneity problems including static and dynamic aspects of knowledge representation.

From a static point of view, they have developed solutions to model this knowledge and make it evolve along its life cycle. From a dynamic point of view, they have developed methods to extract this knowledge of pertinent information combinations to adapt it to profiles and contexts of the final user.

These IT developments complete researches in Information and Communication Sciences conducted by the CIMEOS laboratory. These combined skills provide transfer elements by the digital on issues of communication and environmental education developed from the training and/or marketing angle.


  • Crossknowledge/LE2I/CIMEOS Collaboration: « social learning » and « mobile learning » approach;
  • Continuum DGA/CRB/LE2I: modelling and analysis of objects or geographic spaces evolution with time including movement and change;
  • CRB/PARI Project: Social identities and virtual communities: development of alternative mobilities in cities in transition.
