Presentation

The main goal of the research team “Mobility, cities and transports” of the laboratory of geography is to participate to raise a better knowledge on the structure and spatial dynamic of cities and surrounding territories, within which they are inserted and functioning.

Models, indicators, and evaluation grids are meant to be made available to urban planning professionals (private and public), to help decision making.

Their researches encompass:

  • Modelling and impact of transports on territorial development and planning;
  • Acceptability and uses of new modes of travel;
  • Design and creation of new travel modes and innovative technologies (hybrid vehicle, eco-motorization, …).

Projects/Achievements

  • e-Géopolis - THEMA: Modelling transport network and evaluation of territorial impacts of infrastructures.
  • Electric mobility SMPS/DRIVE/CIMEOS: Social identities and virtual communities: development of alternative mobilities in cities in transition.
  • Modelling platform of daily and residential mobilities (PREDIT – Innovation and Research Program in Terrestrial Transports).
  • City and et sustainable mobilities: evaluation by modeling (ADEME - ANR).

Applications/Markets

  • Transportation sector;
  • Consultants/Engineering offices;
  • Regional and local authorities;
