NEPTUNE: photosensitizer for non-small cell lung cancer treatment by photodynamic therapy (PDT)

NEPTUNE and its 3 variants are peptides coupled to a 3rd generation of photosensitizer. The peptide targets a protein overexpressed in multiple cancer.

Actions on tumor and microenvironment (vascular endothelial cells and intratumoral Treg lymphocytes)

•better efficacy than 5-ALA on lung tumor cells (A549)
•better efficacy than 5-ALA on glioblastoma cells (U87)
•better efficacy than 5-ALA on bladder tumor cells (HTB9)
•no toxicity without illumination
