CONTEXT

Following the occurrence of a stroke, victims frequently suffer physical and / or cognitive injuries that can affect their ability to drive a car safely. Some of these lesions are very visible, but others are hardly perceptible and require the implementation of a battery of tests to try to detect them. At the end of these tests, the patient is authorized or not to resume the use of the pipe. The dissociation that exists between these tests and a real driving situation often creates misunderstanding on the part of patients or even real frustration when the decision is not favorable to them, the right to drive being very important in contemporary society. Furthermore, the decision taken suffers from heterogeneity and different perceptions can intervene from one medical team to another.


DESCRIPTION

The SIMCA² simulator thus offers a homogeneous test protocol for all patients and has a software decision-making tool that leaves very little room for interpretation. It also offers the possibility for all patients to test themselves against a simulated driving test, close to a real situation, so that they can measure their driving ability for themselves without posing a danger to them or for others.
